As we age, sagging eyelids can make us appear tired or frustrated and may even impair vision, impacting everyday activities like driving. Upper and lower blepharoplasty procedures can restore a youthful appearance and protect eyesight.

What is Blepharoplasty?

Blepharoplasty, or an eyelid lift, is a surgery that repositions fat, removes loose skin, and tightens muscles around the eyelids to rejuvenate the face. This procedure includes both upper eyelid lifts and lower eyelid lifts, which may be done separately or together.

How Long Do Eyelid Lifts Take?

Most eyelid lifts take about an hour, with local anesthesia and optional sedation. Dr. Stein makes incisions in inconspicuous locations, adjusts fat pads, tightens muscles, and removes excess skin to create a refreshed look.

How Long is Recovery from Eyelid Surgery?

Patients can go home immediately after the procedure with a companion. Medications may be prescribed, and eyes may be covered with gauze to support healing. Most recover within a week, though strenuous activities should be delayed for two weeks.

How Long Do Blepharoplasty Results Last?

Blepharoplasty results typically last 5-7 years, depending on the patient’s aging process. During your consultation, Dr. Stein will discuss any additional procedures, like laser resurfacing or brow lifts, to enhance your final results.

Am I a Good Candidate for Blepharoplasty?

If sagging eyelids or under-eye bags affect your appearance or vision, you may be a good candidate for blepharoplasty. Patients should be in good health and have realistic expectations. Contact Dr. Stein to determine if blepharoplasty is right for you!
