Unless you can avoid gravity, your brows and forehead will eventually begin to show signs of sagging or wrinkles. A brow lift, also called a forehead lift, corrects drooping brows and loose forehead skin. You will see a smoother forehead and brows restored to their youthful position.

What is a Brow Lift?

A brow lift works to tighten and smooth the forehead and eyebrows. This common problem area is often affected by skin laxity and drooping. A brow lift can be performed alone or with other procedures, such as an eyelid lift, to restore a brighter, more alert appearance around the eyes. Dr. Stein performs over 100 brow lifts every year and excels in creating a naturally youthful look.

Brow Lift vs. Forehead Lift: Is There a Difference?

If you look for a procedure to smooth and lift your forehead, you will most likely find references for a brow lift. A brow lift and a forehead lift are different names for the same procedure. While some people have more concerns with forehead lines and sagging, and others are more concerned about drooping eyebrows, the same procedure addresses both.

Lifting the brows requires tightening the forehead, and tightening the forehead results in lifted brows. If your primary concerns are forehead sagging and wrinkles, a brow lift will help you achieve your goals. This procedure lifts and tightens the upper part of the face for complete rejuvenation.

Can I Have Other Procedures With a Brow Lift?

A brow lift alone has dramatic anti-aging results. It combines well with an upper or lower eyelid lift (blepharoplasty), especially if you have drooping upper eyelids that contribute to a hooded appearance. It also combines well with a facelift, completing the rejuvenating effect the facelift has on your mid and lower face. Discuss all your facial concerns during your consultation to see what combination may work best.

What is Recovery Like After a Brow or Forehead Lift?

You can expect swelling and soreness after your procedure. We recommend ice packs for the first 48 hours to control swelling. You will start feeling more like yourself after two to three days. The swelling has mostly resolved within one week, but you may not feel comfortable with social interactions for two or more weeks. Most people return to work in about two weeks and strenuous activities after four to six weeks. Each person recovers at a different pace based on genetics, lifestyle, medications, post-surgical care, and other factors.

Am I a Good Candidate for a Brow Lift?

Most people with drooping eyebrows or forehead lines make good candidates for a brow lift. Ideal candidates are healthy adults with reasonable expectations and moderate to severe signs of aging around the brows and forehead. You may not be a good candidate if you have certain medical conditions.
