Inner Thigh Lift
The inner thighs are one of the toughest areas on the body to tone and firm. In many cases, exercise and diet alone are simply not enough. Excess skin and fat can develop along the inner thighs, particularly in individuals who have lost a significant amount of weight. The thigh lift is a plastic surgery procedure designed to improve contour by sculpting and reshaping the legs. During the procedure, liposuction is used to remove fat and an incision is made to lift and tighten the skin.
General anesthesia is used for the thigh lift and surgery takes about two hours to complete. Excess fat is removed from the thigh area with liposuction. An incision is then made beneath the bikini line, some groin tissue is loosened, and the thigh area is tightened and sewn into place with special stitches that are attached to the bone and ligaments. Patients will need to take at least one week off from work after the thigh lift for recovery. Regular activities can usually be resumed within two to three weeks. During the healing process, a compression garment will need to be worn. The results of a thigh lift are permanent provided that patients follow a sensible diet and exercise and do not lose or gain a significant amount of weight after surgery.
