Body Lift Surgery Belt Lipectomy
The body lift is a surgical procedure capable of producing amazing results by altering the shape and contour of the body’s middle section, including the belly, back, hips, outer hips and buttocks. There are many different names for the body lift, including torsoplasty, circumferential torsoplasty or lipectomy, central and / or lower body lift, and circumferential panniculectomy. Patients undergoing body lifts tend to fall into one of three categories: (1) post-bariatric patients who have lost a significant amount of weight; (2) individuals who have been unable to lose thirty or forty pounds despite serious attempts at diet and exercise; and (3) women who have gained significant weight as a result of pregnancy or time and have completed their families. For all of these individuals, truly astonishing results can be achieved with the body lift, especially in patients who are close to their ideal body weight.
Individuals considering a body lift must be aware that it is actually a series of major procedures. For the body lift to be performed at one time, surgery will take between six to ten hours and patients will be required to stay in the hospital for a minimum of two days. However, the body lift can also be performed as a series of smaller outpatient procedures. Compared to many other cosmetic procedures, recovery time tends to be longer with the body lift.
